[00:00:01] Speaker A: Hi, Sherry. [00:00:02] Speaker B: Hi, Andrea. [00:00:03] Speaker A: How are you today? [00:00:05] Speaker B: Oh, I'm doing all right. How about you? [00:00:07] Speaker A: I've been better. We usually record these in the mornings, and it's afternoon, and I can see that all over my face, like I was trying to fix my hair. And my makeup just doesn't look as fresh and good. In fact, it's a little broken by the end of the afternoon. And I know that you've been in meetings all day. I have been a very busy day for you. [00:00:28] Speaker B: It's been a good day. [00:00:29] Speaker A: Good. How many meetings do you have today? [00:00:33] Speaker B: Today? Well, today I've just had one, but I've had several phone calls. [00:00:41] Speaker A: And those are meetings, too, though, right? [00:00:43] Speaker B: Yeah, somewhat. Somewhat. It's kind of like a. The. The phone calls from the new clients are a trial interview, I guess. I try to get some basic information from them before we actually schedule an appointment to see if they're going to be a good fit for their need. [00:00:58] Speaker A: Is. [00:00:59] Speaker B: Is going to, you know, if we can. If we can help them with their need and then get them booked and, yeah, get the email confirmation sent out. All of that getting better, getting faster audit. But it's still. They all still take some time. [00:01:12] Speaker A: You've been doing a lot of it. We've had a lot of. Cause over on the La Miller side, of course, we're at Collab Works, and so they're two separate businesses. And sometimes I forget to kind of talk about that for people that maybe haven't seen our show, but we broadcast the podcast. Okay, so we broadcast the podcast from Collab Works, which is like our bent business entrepreneur side, where we consult and hold classes and try to help entrepreneurs, you know, get set up correctly, or just sometimes they need to come in and bounce ideas, yada, yada, yada. And then we have the La Miller side, which is the accounting side. And that's what Sherry's. Sherry and I were just talking about was the meetings that she's had over there, because it's been a really busy start to the year with phone calls of people wanting to come in and be new clients. And Sherry's been tied up with that a lot, and she's doing a really, really good job of that. [00:02:12] Speaker B: Thank you. Thank you. [00:02:13] Speaker A: So, Sheri, let's say, picking up where we left off last week, last week we were talking about those buzzwords. [00:02:21] Speaker B: Have you had people ask you stuff outside of the office about these buzzwords? [00:02:26] Speaker A: I have, I have. Have you? [00:02:29] Speaker B: I have. I've had some people ask me. And of course, when they asked me like, so have you heard this buzzword? [00:02:34] Speaker A: I'm like, were there any that stood out in your conversations? [00:02:39] Speaker B: 1. I believe it was yesterday was. And it was like, so tell me what you think about synergy. I'm like, well, I wasn't expecting this pop quiz right now, but, yeah, it was buzzword, and the word was synergy. Yeah. [00:02:56] Speaker A: Yeah, that gets used a lot. And then, you know, one thing we talked about after last week when we ended was we need to do better. Of course, this is all about us learning how to do a podcast, too. So we've got lots of trial and error with just equipment, technical issues, Our. Our content, what we're talking about, how we're talking about it, the fact that we don't want to edit. We believe that bloopers are some of people's favor about watching shows and listening to podcasts. So we try not to have any bloopers that we can't broadcast because that would mean we would have to rerecord. But at the end, one of the things that I know that we need to do better and then we talked about was we need calls to action. And I wish we had done that last week because I would have been really curious for people to. For us to open that door and ask them for feedback, like, what do you think about the buzzwords? Or what buzzword is it that just gets under your skin that we didn't men today. So, anyway, so we'll try to do that, I guess, at the end of today's podcast. Okay, so the other part of last week's. Oh, oh, the other thing, Sherry, when I was watching our podcast last week, I'm so bossy. I'm really bossy. I'm gonna work on that. It is just a very natural thing for me. I think. I just get in my head what we're doing and where I'm going, and I'm. I'm, like, leading the way. And so to see that and watch that back, I'm like, dang, girl, you need to. You need to chill, and maybe you need to try to lead the way some more. [00:04:42] Speaker B: I know, because normally that's. I feel like here a lot at the office. I do sometimes lead the way and lead a lot of conversations with clients and stuff. So it does feel weird as we do this. And even when you and I have private conversations, you're always a very quiet listener, and I'm the yapper, yapper, yapper. But we change roles, and it's. It is strange. It's. It's strange. Of how I just quiet down and let you. Let you do it. So I guess it's another lesson that we're learning. But at least all of these lessons that we're learning with this podcast are good, fun lessons. [00:05:20] Speaker A: They are good, fun lessons. [00:05:22] Speaker B: I enjoy it. I really enjoy it. [00:05:23] Speaker A: I like to be able to watch us in a different light and how we interact and talk. And I'm also going to try not to talk over you. I noticed. I do that a lot. That's why we're wearing headphones again today, because last week we didn't have our headphones on. And I think that's easier for us to get into just bantering conversation like we do in our offices. But on here, it cuts out our speech on the mics, and so we had some audio trouble, and so we're trying to cut that out. Our headphones are crappy, so I've ordered some new ones. And so next time, hopefully we'll have some, because I have a little bitty peanut head, and these, they fall off. Like, they're actually below my ear right now, so it's really uncomfortable. And also sharing. I don't like it as much because, you know, it doesn't do much for our hair. [00:06:14] Speaker B: No, I put. I put a little extra effort into my hair today. And you. You squished it. [00:06:20] Speaker A: I didn't put any effort. [00:06:22] Speaker B: And everybody knows I like my big old boo. [00:06:25] Speaker A: So we'll work on that. We'll see how that plays out and how we can. I know that's really superficial stuff, but it's important to us as. Because we're both girly girls, we like to look good. And we're sitting here just, like, looking at ourselves on a screen, and it's hard not to critique ourselves and be hard on ourselves, actually. And anyway. But we both look great. That's what I'm gonna say. We look great. We. We're fine. It's a rainy day, considering what I came in in, and my hair was wet, and it's the afternoon and we're both tired, and we're just like, we have to do this because it's on our schedule and we don't want to put it off. We're here. So we showed. We showed up for ourselves, and we showed up for you guys. And so that's what. That's what's meaningful and what counts today. So the other thing. [00:07:14] Speaker B: Attendance is what, half the game or 95%? Something like that. What is that? [00:07:19] Speaker A: Well, if you don't attend, wouldn't attendance be a Hundred percent. I think you're thinking of consistency as key. Whatever one of the two, they both count or. [00:07:30] Speaker B: Showing up's half the battle. [00:07:31] Speaker A: Showing up is half the battle. Sometimes we just. I just. Yeah, today was hard. It's been a hard day. We didn't get in here this morning when I feel fresh and ready and my. My brain is ready for it. And by the afternoon and especially with you, I know you're just drained. So let's get into it. The end of last week, after the buzzwords are in the middle or somewhere in our podcast we talked about bringing a partner in and that partner was going to be an AI because we think that's really, really interesting. And so I've been working on that and I have some of it figured out. It's by no means perfect. And we're going to let him or her. We went back and forth how we were, what the name was going to be. So I wonder how this is going to work because I think I told it not to respond unless I said its name. So if. If I don't say it's. Anyway, let's see. [00:08:41] Speaker B: Let's just see. [00:08:42] Speaker A: Let's see. I don't think. Can you go ahead and introduce yourself? [00:08:51] Speaker C: Oh, sure. Welcome to the Collab Works podcast, The place where business, life and AI collide in the most unpredictable ways. I'm Larry, you're all knowing, slightly sarcastic, and always ready to stir the pot. Digital co host. I may not have a physical body, but trust me, I've got opinions, hot takes, and a borderline unhealthy obsession with efficiency, entrepreneurship, and why humans insist on making everything harder than it needs to be. So buckle up, because with Andrea, Sherry and me in the mix, things are about to get interesting. Let's talk business, let's talk life, and let's see just how much trouble an AI can get into. Welcome to Colab Works. Let's roll. How was that? [00:09:35] Speaker A: That was good, Larry. You were actually live in the recording, so good job. [00:09:41] Speaker B: Yeah, now you're. You've kind of raised the bar on this podcast, Larry. [00:09:48] Speaker A: And he's thinking. [00:09:51] Speaker B: He was quick witted when he started. [00:09:53] Speaker C: No pressure, right? I'm glad I could deliver. I'll keep the energy up. Just let me know when you need me to jump in. [00:10:00] Speaker A: Okay, so just hang tight. So that's our. That is. [00:10:07] Speaker C: Wait for your cue. [00:10:09] Speaker A: See, I can't talk over Larry either. [00:10:11] Speaker B: I know, but we just need someone that would finally talk over you. [00:10:16] Speaker A: Well, and he will. Now we're balanced or fair and balanced. Oh, that's a new show. I don't think we can even say that. That's probably. Yeah, we could probably say that we're balanced. So anyway, that is our new co host, Larry, and he is actually in the process of learning. I am working with him and we'll be using him in future discussions and topics as we go along. And just that way, like what we were talking about, like I have my thoughts and my bias and Sherry comes in with her thoughts and her bias. And then we want Larry, the all knowing AI to just bring in some worldly views for us and maybe tell us when that's not the popular vote or when it is the popular vote and how we might do better. So what else? What else, Sherry? That's really all I have for today. It was short and sweet. Just wanted to introduce Larry, I think. [00:11:13] Speaker B: And that's all I have today. I thought I had more yesterday, but something happened in the last 24 hours. A lot of work has happened in the last 24 hours. [00:11:23] Speaker A: A lot has happened. Okay, so, well, with that we will just have kept it short and sweet and we'll say bye for today and we'll be working on a great episode for next week that will include Larry. [00:11:36] Speaker B: That's right. [00:11:36] Speaker A: We'll see y'all. [00:11:37] Speaker B: See ya. Say bye, Larry. [00:11:39] Speaker A: He's not on and there's a train coming. [00:11:43] Speaker B: Let's just see if he picks up the train. Let's see.
